The Magic School Bus at the First Thanksgiving is the thirteenth of twenty-four of The Magic School Bus Scholastic Reader books.
Plot[]
The kids go back in time to the first Thanksgiving, where they meet the American Indians and the Pilgrims who helped made that day become a tradition in the Western Hemisphere.
Trivia[]
- A typographical error occurred in the final page of Builds the Statue of Liberty, where the book's title was misspelled At the First Thanksgivng.
- Like the former, this book also focuses on United States history. It shares some qualities with it as well:
- Both books involve time travel.
- The students and Professor Frizzle interact with historical figures in both books (Bartholdi in TMSB Builds the Statue of Liberty and the Native Americans/Pilgrims in this book)
- This would be the first and only Magic School Bus book to mention religion; as the pilgrims were seeking religious freedom from the Crown of England.
