Trivia[]
- Included with this disc is a brand new, never-before-seen episode, Goldstealer[3] (whose French title is «Qui a volé l’or ?») It is infamous for being the first episode of the show to go straight to DVD and other platforms first and to not be released on Netflix. It is a parody of James Bond: Goldfinger (1964) with some MSB elements.
- The DVD versions of this season’s episodes omit the dedication to Joanna Cole, and use the 2017 Netflix logo (likely because Rides Again Season 3 was produced in 2018) instead of the one from 2019 like the Netflix printings of the first three episodes. This is probably because these were the original versions of the specials. They were produced before the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and Joanna Cole's death—two factors that changed the way this season would be released and presented.
- The box art is based on the producer segment of "The Frizz Connection," however Ms. Frizzle is not split into the Frizzle Fragments and is wearing the time zones outfit plus the watch from In the Zone.
- The reverse cover is based on "In the Zone," as it uses the key-art of the class dancing on the Bus’s dance floor. The Episode Selection menu also uses a still from that episode, when Ms. Frizzle messes with the No Can See-alyzer (formerly known as the Invisibilifier in “I Spy with My Animal Eyes”) to turn the class invisible with the intent to get them backstage.
- The Main Menu is based on “Kids in Space.”
- This disc is the first time the episode selection is on a menu other than the Main Menu since The Magic School Bus: Season Four and the 2018 six-disc rerelease of The Magic School Bus: The Complete Series. Coincidentally, all three are season DVDs. Audio options are also moved to the Main Menu here, like on The Magic School Bus Rides Again: The Complete First and Second Seasons and Greatest Adventures.
- On the Episode Selection, The Frizz Connection is referred to as simply “Frizz Connection.”
- Episodes are sorted in production order, with "Goldstealer" being third (MSB2_203B) instead of fourth (MSB2_204B) like in airing order.
- Goldstealer would later premiere on television on Knowledge Network on October 30, 2023[4], and is freely available to watch on the Knowledge Network website under its production order spot.
