Stuart Stone (b. November 17, 1980; Thornhill, ON, Canada) is a Canadian actor, voice actor, and veteran child actor, best known for being the first and longest-running voice of Ralphie and his alter-ego Weatherman for The Magic School Bus franchise. He voiced Ralphie in all four seasons of the 1994 series, The Magic School Bus Explores games, and the Activity Pack cassettes (through reused audio from original series episodes).
In 2017, Stone was succeeded by Matthew Mintz, and later Matthew Mucci.
Trivia[]
- Stone's Ralphie has undergone many phases as his voice aged. In the first and early-to-mid second seasons of the original series and the games that were released in that time period, Ralphie’s voice was appropriate for his age. In the later half of Season 2, Ralphie’s voice starts to deepen with Stone hitting puberty, and a few of his lines vary in pitch, sounding either pitch-shifted or akin to his more iconic teen-sounding voice, which becomes prominent in the final two seasons. Stone recycles his Ralphie voice in Rides Again through his minor roles.
- He is one of the three actors to appear in Babar with Amos Crawley (young Arthur and Alexander) and Lisa Jai (Isabelle and Flora).
