Redbeard
Redbeard the Pirate is Professor Frizzle's ancestor[1], the pirate in her family a long, long time ago. He buried a treasure chest in a coral reef with a treasure map kept by Professor Frizzle. His treasure chest was found by Prof. Frizzle's former class in the episode Takes a Dive. Inside the chest was a picture of Redbeard and The Magic Spanish Galleon made by him.

As mentioned by Professor Frizzle, Redbeard probably used to say, "Go into the sea without a partner, matey, and you can get into deep trouble! Yeow."

- He is one of the few Frizzles who doesn't bear the Frizzle name.
- Ms. Frizzle mentions that Redbeard knew many things, but didn't know about pollution (since he lived probably during the 16th - 17th centuries).
