Pariksha (परीक्षा; romanized Parīkṣā in IAST) is Jyoti's maternal grandmother (नानी/nānī) who lives in England. She is a technology expert, just like her granddaughter, and a friend of Ms. Frizzle's. She was mentioned in "DA and the Deep Blue Sea", and she later made her first physical appearance as a one-time character in "Nothin' but Net". She gave Jyoti a waterproof locket that she used to help Dorothy Ann collect undersea data on a trip to Mussel Beach in "DA and the Deep Blue Sea".
