The Monster of Walkerlake is an inflatable plesiosaurus that was used by Gerri Poveri, as she reported fake stories on In Your Face, to make Walkerville think there's a sea monster living in Walker Lake to increase her show's ratings from the prequel series episode, Ups and Downs.

The Monster of Walker Lake is a big, green inflatable plesiosaurus that Gerri used when she made up stories about a sea monster living in Walker Lake. The inflatable monster has a plesiosaur head on a long neck with yellow eyes, sharp teeth, four flippers, a long tail and brown spots. It's nose is revealed to be detachable, as it broke off when Wanda punched it when she finally found it, causing her to realize the monster isn't real, but a balloon plesiosaur.
Biography[]
When Gerri Poveri's talk show, In Your Face's ratings were running low, she used this inflatable plesiosaurus and made up stories about a sea monster living in Walkerlake to get her show's ratings to increase again. When Gerri reported one of her fake Monster of Walker Lake stories on TV, Wanda and the rest of Ms. Frizzle's class were excited when they watched it and she and the rest of the kids went to Walker Lake to go check it out.
Despite Gerri's warning show spoke through a megaphone from her helicopter telling Ms. Frizzle's class to stay out of the water since it's too dangerous to go swimming with the monster out there, Wanda ignores it and states that Gerri doesn't own Walker Lake and they could search for the monster if they wanted too.
When they started their search for the Monster of Walker Lake by tying barrels they filled with sand to the Magic School Bus in the form of a submarine to give it extra weight so it'll sink, Gerri in her submersible sees them and with the Friz and her class not noticing, she activates he submersible's claws and unties the ropes holding the sand filled barrels to the bus making them break off making them light again, causing the Friz and the class to have a wild ride of floating rapidly back up to the surface and popping out of the surface of the lake flying straight up into the air, as she tried to prevent Wanda and the rest of Ms. Frizzle's class from finding her inflatable monster which will cause them to find out she was making the monster stories up.
When Wanda started to search for the monster after the Friz and her class sank to the bottom of the lake by crumpling the bus up to a small size, when she gets tangled in a bunch of sea weed, Gerri sees her and states that she's sunk if she found her monster. When Wanda finally does find the monster, she punches it on it's nose. But as soon as she does, it's nose breaks off it's head. Wanda then notices the monster isn't real but an inflatable balloon plesiosaur. Gerri then shows up in her submersible and explains to Wanda she had faked the Monster of Walker Lake stories to increase he show's ratings and sabotaged the bus' barrel weights earlier which caused them to have their wild ride of floating rapidly up to the surface as she tried to prevent them from uncovering her ruse. Wanda then gets furious at her and tells her she won't get away with it, but she then meanly tells her that no one will ever believe her; she's just a kid.
When Gerri saw Ms. Frizzle and the class rising back up to the surface after they used air pumps to pump the water out of the bus' pontoons to make them lighter again so they rise and float, Gerri evilly tells Wanda to sink again and again activates her submersible's claws and pops out the corks re-flooding the pontoons causing the Friz and the class to sink back down to the bottom. She then evilly leaves them as the bus crashes back down to the bottom of the lake expecting she had drowned them so she can get away with her Monster of Walker Lake stories. Back at the surface, Gerri uses a remote control and makes her inflatable monster rise up to the surface as she planed to lie to her audience and say she found the monster and started to do her next Monster of Walker Lake story.
When the kids saw Gerri's inflatable monster rising to the surface, Phoebe has an idea and decides to float the bus back up to the surface by getting bigger. After they've got the bus to float back up again by the kids pulling on each side of the bus and Ms. Frizzle and Liz pushing on each side of it from the inside to uncrumple it, Tim gets his Monster Cam and Wanda and Tim head to the inflatable monster. Wanda then unties the ropes holding onto the inflatable monster and it floats up towards the surface, and the monster pops out from under the water underneath Gerri's helicopter capsizing it, and the bus pops out the water as well. Gerri then started crying and complaining that her story is ruined, but Wanda then pops out of the water and tells Gerri it's really she and her friends' story. Wanda then pulls the cork out of the inflatable monster and it flies up into the air as it deflates and it lands flat on the surface and Tim got the whole thing on video.
Back at the In Your Face Studio, Gerri knew she now had to apologize to her audience. She does so, and everyone excepts it. Wanda then tells Gerri how she got her inflatable monster to the surface, but untying the ropes holding onto it, making float up to the surface and her very own monster ended up, "In [Her] Face!".
