Mercury is the first planet from the sun, and where Ms. Frizzle and her class land on their first stop of their tour of the solar system in The Magic School Bus episode, Gets Lost in Space.
Mercury could also be one of the solar system's planets where game players choose to land on in the PC game, The Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System.
Plot[]
After blasting off into outer space and circling the sun, they approach Mercury the first planet from the sun, and Janet conforms when she tells her class, they're going to be so jealous. After landing on Mercury, Ms. Frizzle, Liz and the class start doing high jumps since there's less gravity on Mercury. Janet tells Carlos and Dorothy Ann she won first place in a jumping contest and shows them her blue ribbon to prove it. She then says wait till she tells her class she won the jumping contest on Mercury too, but Carlos and Dorothy Ann tell Janet, "But you know what they're gonna say? Prove it!". Janet gets shocked and wonders how she will prove she was on Mercury. Meanwhile, Ralphie sees big holes in the ground on and thinks they're big footprints made by aliens that live on Mercury, but Keesha tells him that nothing could live on Mercury because it's too hot and dry during the day, and Dorothy Ann adds way bellow freezing at night, and Ms. Frizzle adds at both day and night there's no air with makes it impossible to breath. Ralphie though presumes sometime made the big holes, but Janet then tells Ralphie they were made by meteorites. Carlos then jokes saying, "If the ones that hit the planet are called meteorites, what do you call the ones that miss? Meteor wrongs.", causing all the kids to laugh. Meanwhile, Janet jumps into a creator and digs into the ground and picks up a meteorite to take back with her to show to her class to proves she was on Mercury, causing Arnold to say, "Oh, Janet."
The Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System[]
Mercury could be one of the planets of the solar system that the players could click on to fly to and land on. On Mercury, the player controls Wanda on that planet while searching for the Ms. Frizzle token, which will give the player a clue of which planet or moon she's on. Wanda also does her report on Mercury.
