The Magic School Bus has a lot of special devices powered by its MagicWare software, most of which hide inside its hood and give it its title of a "magic" bus.

Shrinkerscope and its variants[]

Main article: Shrinkerscope

Shrinkerscope (Bus)[]

The Shrinkerscope (known as both the Smallinator and Shrinkifier in "I Spy with my Animal Eyes") is the tool used for easy size manipulation within the Bus' dashboard at the will of its driver. The Bus's Shrinkerscope can also emerge from its roof to shrink the students (Ghost Farm). The smallest it can shrink the Bus and class is subatomic size (The Magnetic Mambo, Meets Molly Cule, Three in One) It is activated by a stick-shaped lever near the steering wheel (Kicks Up a Storm), or the touchscreen dashboard. It is somehow connected to the Apidemonflemonjab, a device which interfered with the Shrinkerscope and Enormomometer/Bigifier in "Gets Ready, Set, Dough!".

Porta-Shrinker[]

It has a portable variant called the Porta-Shrinker, which is a purple laser gun with a pink satellite netting at the front (original) or programmed into the Bus Remote (Rides Again). Whilst the Shrinkerscope is only used for miniaturization, the Portashrinker can also return things back to normal as well as shrink them.

Enormomometer/Bigifier[]

Its opposite is called the Enormomometer in "Gets Ready, Set, Dough" and the Bigifier in "Kids in Space", which reverts the kids back to their normal size from the Bus's control panel.

Problems and issues with size-manipulation devices[]

When a size-change device is wet, a dew dinger dings the first six notes of the theme song, being "cruisin' on down Main Street" (Butterfly and the Bog Beast) Whenever the Bus is badly damaged, or severe weather conditions happen, Shell Shock Shrinkerscope mode miniaturizes the Bus into a small, but visible size. (Send in the Clouds)

Arnold's and Ratney's Size Manipulators[]

Those are used to grow Arnold (The Busasaurus) and Ratney (I Spy with My Animal Eyes).

Mesmerglober and Shape-Shifting[]

Main article: Mesmerglober

Mesmerglober (Bus)[]

The Mesmerglober is used to transform the Bus (and students) at the will of its driver. As the Bus transforms, it stretches vertically (Original seasons 2, 3, and 4 only) and horizontally (All original seasons), or simply flattens itself and jumps (Rides Again Season 1) before compressing itself and spinning into a yellow tornado and disassembling itself into the new form. The Bus can transform into anything from animals to spacecraft. Transforming into animals requires both this device and the Shrinkerscope to work together, especially when the driver is transforming it into a bug. It is activated by either the touchscreen dashboard or, more commonly, a big redMSB/grayRA lever near the air conditioning system at the heart of the dashboard, which also doubles as the bus engine's gear shift, as it is shown on multiple occasions to get the bus started up.

Supposatron remote[]

This remote turns the Bus into a Supposatron, a giant laboratory used to evaluate guesses. However, the Bus still resembles a normal school bus from the outside.

Warp Drive[]

The Warp Drive is used to control the Bus's speed. During space field trips, this makes sure that it doesn't take years to travel between planets. This also allows the Bus to teleport to a given location at the will of the driver. (Pigs in the Wind)

Heat Shield[]

The Heat Shield is an invisible protective coating that protects the Bus from extreme heat or acidity while in places such as the inside of a volcano, an oven, the surface of the sun, or Arnold's hydrochloric stomach acid.

Water Key[]

The water key was used to liquefy the Bus and class. Once the water-key is used, it liquefies as well. (Wet All Over)

Itty-B[]

Itty-B (short for Itty-Bus) is a cute, small, and sentient hexagonal drone with a robotic face that resembles the Bus's headlight eyes, grille nose, and bumper mouth. It is connected to Jyoti's FrizPad, and it can send images to it. It can be remote-controlled, and it can be used as propulsion. (Kids in Space)

Weather Controls[]

Weatherman uses this to manipulate the weather in Kicks Up a Storm.

Bingbongifier[]

The Bingbongifier, also known as the Emergency Magic Maker, allows the Bus to reboot itself from a software glitch. It is powered by song (In the Zone)
