Captain Rock Man is Arnold's superhero alter-ego who debuted in "The Battle for Rock Mountain". He is the adversary of Weatherman who is featured in Tim's in-universe comics, "The Adventures of Weatherman."
Appearance[]
Captain Rock Man is a golem made out rock. In In the Zone, it is revealed that humans are the size of his toes when standing on the ground, and the Bus is the size of his leg. His entire body is covered in sediment, minerals, and sharp crystals, depending on what type of rock he is.
Color Scheme[]
As an igneous rock, he is a #5f574c golem with yellow and black minerals.
Abilities[]
Strength - Being an enormous golem, he can lift the Bus at its normal size with one hand with no need for the Shrinkerscope.
Geological physics/rock transformation - As a rock, he is prone to the rock cycle - being melted and transformed into other rock. When he transforms, he is more powerful.
Trivia[]
- He is based on Arnold's interest in rocks, which was first mentioned in "Gets Lost in Space."
- Captain Rock Man is a golem (גולם golem), or an anthropomorphic geological formation from the Old Testament.
- This could tie in to the fact that Arnold and the rest of the Perlstein family happen to be Jews, which was revealed in the first half of the Holiday Special.
- He is one of the forms that Arnold transforms into in In the Zone.
- He is the second superhero from Kicks Up a Storm and The Battle for Rock Mountain to appear in two episodes. The first is his rival, Weatherman.
- His civilian identity being Arnold may also be based on a scene in The Busasaurus, in which he becomes giant to fight a Tyrannosaurus rex.
- Captain Rock Man's opening monologue in igneous form is entirely different in each episode, however its ending is left almost intact in both versions (though modified a bit):
- In the original version from "The Battle for Rock Mountain", he says, "And because I was born of molten stone, you can call me Captain Igneous Rock!"
- In the "In the Zone" version, the line is "And because I was forged from molten stone, you can call me Captain Igneous Rock Man!"
