The Bus Fragments are three parts of the Bus that are the result of what happens when it gets struck by lightning. As well as the Bus, the driver gets separated too. Each Bus has an "air current control", activated by a lever under their seats, acting as a rudder for ease of driving and steering.
Banana[]
The Banana is the first of the three Buses, driven by Friz, the "goofy side" of Ms. Frizzle. It appeared in Waikiki, Hawaii with Carlos, Keesha, and Ralphie, the joke-makers.
Compass[]
The compass appeared in Peru. It is driven by Fiona, the "daredevil side" of Ms. Frizzle. Adventurous students Tim, Jyoti, and Wanda ended up on this bus.
Apple[]
The apple appeared in Nova Scotia, Canada with Ms. Frizzle, the "serious side" of Ms. Frizzle. The intelligent students, Arnold and Dorothy Ann (and Liz), ended up here.
Trivia[]
This references several Cartoon Network series:
- The Buses' abilities to separate and fuse, just like Ms. Frizzle, reference the phenomenon in the 2013 animated series Steven Universe, and its 2019 reboot, Steven Universe Future, known as Fusions.
- The fact that the Bus' fusions are emoticlones (emotional clones) may also give a nod to the episode of another 2013 series, Teen Titans GO!, "Colors of Raven".
