Bruce Degen was the illustrator of the first thirteen books of The Magic School Bus. Along with Joanna Cole, he revolutionized grade-school science topics. The Magic School Bus series debuted as a book series written by Joanna and illustrated by him, and the book became increasingly popular following the introduction of The Magic School Bus (1994) and its sequel, The Magic School Bus Rides Again.
Bruce was also a writer for the animated children's series The Magic School Bus (1994).
Degen died of pancreatic cancer in Newtown, on November 7, 2024, at the age of 79.[1]
