The Magic School Bus (named Albie) is the main and partially titular protagonist of the 2020s spin-off series, The Magic School Bus: Mighty Explorers. They are the school bus that Ms. Frizzle, Liz, and the Mighty Explorers use to go on field trips.
Their counterpart in more mainstream content is the original Bus.

- Albie trades in the original Bus’s horn and engine-based communication for the ability to talk, and it is voiced by an unknown child actor. This is similar to how the original Liz (voiced by Catherine Thompson, an additional voice from the 1994 series) was able to talk in the games.
- Through the March 2025 teaser, they are the first character to break the fourth wall in the Mighty Explorers universe, and the first MSB character to do so outside of the producer segments in the classic-era shows, interactivity in the games, or the fact vs. fiction pages in the ‘80s books.
- Their design borrows elements from the three main designs of the original Bus—such as the overhead sign being reminiscent of the 1986 and 1994 Buses as well as featuring the 2017 Bus’s black racing stripe. There are three windows instead of four on each side of them like the 1994 Bus as well.
- They are the first animated Bus to display text on its overhead sign, as the original Bus would display pictures in the 1994 series. Judging by the trailer, Albie seems to only display “WAHOO!“ no matter what form they are in.
