They mentioned this in their statement on Bruce Degen's death. It doesn't mention much besides the fact that the live action film is planned (at least they finally gave us an update on the film after 4 years). Note that this film has been in production since 2020, so maybe finally next year we'll finally get actual news of the film? Wonder how'll they'll pay tribute to Bruce Degen in the movie.

Yeah I'd figured, but I still feel like they at least got some concept art or a few storyboards done, or at least planning on where to film the film (I would be surprised if they were to film the film in Rhode Island considering that Walkervile is implied to be located there, but I also have a feeling that they might film the film in New York).
Yeah. I hope the trailer releases next year.
We don't know if it will be related to Rides Again or if it's a separate storyline entirely.
They might do the credits of the movie in his artstyle or they'll have a character related to him appear in the film, just like they did with Clifford the Big Red Dog (2021).
Scholastic made a statement on this a few days ago;

According to recent press releases that feature Scholastic Ent in them TMSB movie is still in production, so it doesn't seem to be canceled. It's likely their working hard on that movie behind the scenes but I feel like they should at least give us an update by the movie on now since it's been 4 years now and we haven't heard anything since it was announced. At least we have Mighty Explores coming out of keep us busy for a while.
Meanwhile Rides Again is just standing in the background.
Honestly this show is not what I was expecting at all. I mean I was expecting The Bus to return in it's CGI model but they replaced them with a new character called Albie? I do agree that Albie looks ridiculous with the Cocomelon-like look and the fact that they took away the bumper mouth. It also seems odd that we're getting a preschool version of TMSB when TMSB was mostly targeted at elementary school kids. however It's still a bit interesting considering that MSB never had a version for younger kids before, so we'll see how this goes.
They did also get some new kids in the show so I'm curious how they will be developed, but it doesn't seem like the other students are appearing in this show sadly. It would be great to see them in CGI even if they only appear in the show for a few seconds.
Maybe after this show is finished/or if it's successful we'll get another CGI animated series that is actually focused on the timeline in RA and the 90s series and continue it. I can still tell that the 90s Fans are going to pan this show even harder than RA.
Guess I'll have to wait until the movie comes out for me to see The Bus being built by the Frizzle Sisters ;-;

Let's be real if the Frizzle Sisters don't appear in this show then there's no doubt the older MSB fans are going to pan this show so hard.
The Frizzle Sisters may or may not appear in this show. We just don't know for certain yet because of the so little details Scholastic gave us.
IRYO. Albie does look a bit uncanny in the promo image but maybe that's just because of how they are posed/how the camera is angled.
And since this is conformed to be a reboot, I hope this takes place in a different timeline completely separate from RA and the 90s series because of how this whole show is formatted. It would be odd for The Bus/Albie to suddenly be driving preschool kids when for the first 2 shows they were driving elementary school kids. Plus the fact that we still don't know if Ms. Frizzle will be in this series.

If I have to be very honest here this is.....Not what I was expecting. What happened to the CGI Bus model from the specials? And Albie is based off The Bus from the 90s series? I mean their design isn't bad but with the changes idk if I (or the majority of this Fandom to be exact) is going to enjoy this series. According to a official LinkedIn post, this is a reboot but its still unclear if it's a new story rather than a continuation of Rides Again and the 90s series. This series might take place in a different timeline/AU/community then RA and the 90s series and that said community is still cannon.

It has been 7 years since Rides Again premiered on Netflix on September 29, 2017!
Ever since late Aug I been having a feeling that Scholastic might release something big before the upcoming movie and the upcoming CGI series comes out like a 5th special but who knows what will happen. I mean they already got their Dog Man fans hyped so maybe in the meantime they'll hype us with something too?
